I apologize for my absence of posting, I’ve just been a bit busy. This past weekend was really my last “open” weekend for awhile so I wanted to make the most of it. But I promise (gulp!) that I will get back to my somewhat regular posting schedule.
Friday I got a surprise text from a MN friend saying he was in town so I definitely made the time to meet up for a little happy hour which didn’t leave time for my normal TGIF post. Let me just tell you now that my MN friends are all giants. GIANTS!
Saturday, I woke up with a headache and skipped my morning practice, slept in, and then soaked up some rays at the beach. No regrets about that. No pics either but it looks the same as last weekend and the weekend before.
Sunday was great. I went kayaking up at the Inwood Canoe Club. It’s free Sunday 9am-11am in the summers. Although I suggest donating at least $5 to cover the cost of insuring you.
And that night I made up my missed practice with a nice 10 mile run over the GW bridge and back and then down to Columbus Circle. I ran with Yalda and Blair who are two of the three I’ll be doing the Montreal RnR Half with in a few weeks. And by a few weeks I mean 45 days. Yes, I have a countdown. Can you say excited?!
Oh and I bought this book which is funny because when the heck am I going to find the time to read it?!
So why am I so busy? Let me just give you a little run down (aka pity party).
I’ve had two coworkers leave in the last two weeks (moving on to greener pastures) and another one who’ll be out the door the 28th. Yay for more work! (I kid, I kid) Also I’m starting to work on a personal research project here, I’ll update you when I know more but let’s just say I’m reading piles and piles of peer review journal articles.
Out of the next 7 weekends, I will be away for 3 of them. While all 3 are fun trips, it’s 3 weekends I won’t have time to work on my grad school aps. Yup, it’s that time already. =/ Then another 3 of those someone or other will be in town visiting so I will be busy catching up.
And don’t get me started on October, I have 3 of the 4 weekends booked with races. Not to mention I want to submit an abstract for research project to the American Psychosomatic Society conference which has a deadline of October 5th.
So tell me, what’s been keeping you busy lately?
And is it just me, or do summers get busier every year you get older? (Please tell me I’m wrong!)
