Favorite Books of 2015

I read 32 books in 2015 which was 61.5% of my goal. So I didn’t fail at my resolutions, I simply got a D. =/ But out of those books, I wanted to share with you my favorites.

Disclosure: Links to these books are through my Amazon Affiliates account. You can read more about what that means on my about CC page.

Nobody is Ever Missing by Catherine Lacey
An amazing debut novel. The fact it’s Catherine Lacey’s first novel still is shocking to me. This fictional story is a stream of consciousness that follows the main character (late 20’s female) slide into depression. I give it 5 stars!

Still Alice by Lisa Genova
Fictional novel on a woman’s diagnosis and progression of early onset Alzheimer’s disease. Loved the book (5 stars) but hated the movie.

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot
Non-fiction that tells you the story of the woman behind HeLa cells – which are cells that are incredibly important to our modern medicine. I loved how this book also chronicled Rebecca Skloot’s journalistic process and relationship with Henrietta’s daughter, Dale. 5 Stars!

Eating Chinese Food Naked by Mei Ng
A debut novel that explores the relationships between the main character (1st generation Chinese-American) and her family and romantic partners after she returns home briefly after college. 5 stars!

The Book of Speculation by Erika Swyler
I received this debut novel through a giveaway on Goodreads. It has mixed reviews there but I loved it and gave it 5 stars. It’s mystical, it’s magical, and I thought it was a great read. It goes back and forth between two stories, one present day and one in the past. Will there be a connection? Well you’ll have to read it to find out.

What were your favorite books of 2015?
