January Recap

January Recap

Remember my 2016 resolutions? Well let’s take a look at how I’m doing, here is a recap of my progress in January (or lack of it).

Read 52 books (1 book/week)
Books Read in January: 3 (started a 4th)

Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
I finished this book in a day, I enjoyed it. But I wasn’t impressed. Gillian Flynn’s work is all the same in my opinion. I would love to see a little more variety. I will still be checking out Dark Places at some point though.

The Secret History by Donna Tartt
I felt a strange sense of deja vu with the main character, Richard; he reminded me too much of Theo from The Goldfinch (her other book). Although I enjoyed this book more.

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
I’m not going to lie, I didn’t really like this book. Sure the message against institutionalized racism is great but overall the story was just meh. I had felt a pull to read this because FOMO. Well I wasn’t missing out on anything. Maybe this book would be better geared to someone of younger age which the ship has sailed for me.

The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell
Still reading but I’m digging it so far!

Run 700 miles (13.5 miles/week)
January Mileage: 32.61
21.39 miles behind

Set a new half marathon PR
I still need to sign up for a half, any suggestions?

Do more yoga
Yoga classes attended: 0
Uh oh! Well it can only go up from here.

Spend more time hanging out in coffee shops
If you look at my Instagram you’d know that I’m excelling at this resolution
