I can’t believe last night was my last practice with my team (*full out bawling). I’m going to miss them so much! It’s been such an enjoyable journey.
Here are the updates on my final days of training plus some non-training race related details.
Saturday, October 24th
I ran the last 10 miles of the course – Finally! We joined up with the Nike Running Club and ran with over 100 other people but it was great. It was such a cohesive and fun group. I’ll definitely have to sign up for another NRC run in the future. Also this run really boosted my confidence. I hadn’t run past 90th St. on the 1st ave, in the Bronx at all, or above 103rd on 5th ave so I was a little nervous. But it was fine and now I’ll know what to expect Sunday. It’s official, I’ve run every part of the course except for the Verranzano-Narrows Bridge.
Sunday, October 25th
I went to cheer on my friend, Maneeza at her first 10k. She rocked absolutely rocked the NYC Roosevelt Island 10k! I wasn’t planning on running at all but ended up running the entire thing with her. No complaints.
Monday, October 26th What better than to have a massage on a rest day? It felt so good. I can’t wait until I have another one next week post-race.
Tuesday, October 27th 8 finishers + core work. So you ask what a finisher is? Well the good ol’ NYC marathon course ends on a little hill so a finisher is running up and down that hill. Now repeat 8 times.
Wednesday, October 28th Had a rest day with the team, we ironed on our names to our jerseys. I’m not going to lie, I didn’t love the arts and crafts but I was definitely happy to carbo load on 4+ cookies (okay, it was 6!)

Our last practice was a lower loop of Central Park plus 3 finishers and core work. I’m really going to miss everyone but we still have one last, long run together. And of course, the Sunday after party and the Monday Happy Hour. So I will save the tears for another day.
