Beware: a lot of selfies ahead!
I got up bright and early (5:30am) so that I could run the longest run of my life for NYRR’s 1st long training run. Seriously, longest run of my life. Can you say PR? Yay me! Actually I got 2 PRs in because my other one was highest mileage week ever at 38 miles.

Like last weekend, I followed my long hot run with some much needed beach time (I really hope this becomes a regular routine).
There was a forecast of possible T-storms (what a joke) so my friend Hannah and I traded in beach plans for a trip to Smorgasburg out on Pier 5. The 95F heat didn’t exactly give me an appetite but I managed to stomach an amazing Maine lobster roll from Red Hook Lobster Pound washed down by my absolute favorite lemonade sweetened by maple syrup from Vermont. And due to the heat I didn’t bat an eye at the fact that I ate two desserts. TWO DESSERTS! A deliciously refreshing passion fruit lassi pop from Monsieur Singh and a rich, creamy mocha cardamom fudgsicle from Whimsy & Spice. I love cardamom anything! Sorry no photos of the goods, my hands were too full stuffing them in my mouth.
We walked off the Smorgasburg calories over the Brooklyn Bridge.
